you could get dwarf cichlids. you may be able to have a pair of blue rams in tehre or some kind of appisto maybe. dont really know much about appistos though

you could try a couple of borelli's apistogramma, they are that big and have the aggression of a guppy. I had 2, they wont be aggressive unless there is 2 males.

You could do some apisots, rams, or some tanganikan shell dwellors.

Tanganikyan shelldwellers would be fine in that size tank as would a pair/trio of Apisto dwarf cichlids.

a pair of gold rams would be nice in there or any rams really, or you could get some gobys, i trio of peacock gobys 1m 2fm both of them could go with a bristlenose and some tetras something like this would be great

2 Rams/ 3 Peacock gobys
WITH
1 Bristlenose
6 Kitty Tetras

that would be real nice.

Kitty tetras are like neons?

Nope, heres pic of them. crap pic, but best i could find. not to fast, not to big, and not nippy

Any sources or links on how to sex the rams?

Sexing rams is not difficult as they do show a reasonable amount of sexual dimorphism. The first several spines of the dorsal fin or "crest" of the males are longer than those of the females. Males also tend to be a little larger than females. Females on the other hand tend to be fuller in the abdomen and exhibit a bright red coloration in this area when in breeding condition.

i could'nt tell my rams apart as babys, but adults are easier

i agree a pair of rams or apistogramma's and a large shoal of tetras would look great
