I have a 44 gallon tank set up with a nice little community in there, and I remembered that I had a 1 gallon tank lying around my parents' house. So I set it all up and don't know what to put in there and don't wanna seem like a retard in the stores. I remember as a kid I used to keep those pretty little deltas or whatever but they always died in a few months. The box says that its a goldfish tank, but I'm not entirely sure I want a goldfish since they suck mega a. But I might look into it. What kinds of goldfish or other fish would I be able to keep in there?

The only type of fish that could possibly live in there would be a betta.

yeah, betta, thats what it was called. whats a delta? just a triangle i guess :p thanks

1 gallon sounds far too small for a betta. Why don't you leave it empty and keep it as a hospital/quarantine/breeding tank? You will find it extremely useful. See the Emergency forum pinned topic about hospital tanks (sorry I don't know how to put links)

a lot of people told me not to put a betta in my 1.5 gallon, and its working out great. seems healthy, eats, plays around when i get close. i strongly suggest a betta and i also have 2 small snails in it. thats my opinion

Bettas do fine in a 1 gallon in my opinion as long as you change the water once per week. Good luck.

Bettas like to swim freely, and although they can survive well in a small tank. It dosen't mean they should be subject to this. Bettas will thrive in a 3-5 gallon tank.

A 1g is even less useful as a QT/hospital than as a betta tank...

Brine shrimp? They're interesting critters (hence why they're sold as Sea Monkeys) and you can use them as food too.
