Teaspoon quantities
I have calculated the amount of each chemical by weighing the amount using a standard teaspoon (5ml) which is available from most kitchen stores. Depending on where you obtain your chemicals from you may get slightly different weights. I get all mine from Aqua Essentials. Here are the weights I have used for each chemical using one teaspoon:
Potassium Nitrate 6.0g
Potassium Phosphate 6.6g
Potassium Sulphate 5.1g
Magnesium Sulphate 5.1g
Calcium Sulphate 4.1g
1tsp - 5ml / 2 = 0.25
1/2tsp - 2.5ml / 2 = 1.25
1/8tsp - 1.25ml / 2 = 0.65
1tsp - 5ml / 2 = 0.25
1/2tsp - 2.5ml / 2 = 1.25
1/8tsp - 1.25ml / 2 = 0.65
Sorry aaron, I don't know whats happening here?
if 1tsp = 5ml
1/2tsp = 2.5
1/4tsp = 1.25
1/8tsp = 0.63
1/16tsp = 0.31ml
so 1/16tsp of KNO3 would be 0.31ml and weigh 0.38g
