I am dosing with nilo g thrive every other day and have co2. The plants leaves curl as they age. The giant hygros leaves come out deformed. What can dose to fix this?
so my 10 gallon dirted tank has been up and running for about a year. The water wisteria was doing great at first but then seemed to get stunted and grew much slower. Why is this? (No ferts, co2. Just dirt)
I am so sorry for the late reply. I couldn’t get my hand on gh and kh test strips till today. Kh is 40 and gh is 30 according to the strips. Also, this is after I started using ro with re mineralizer for the tank.
I keep Bettas, tetras, plecos, gudgeons, white clouds, scarlet badis, kuhlii loaches, and soon chili rasboras and Pygmy corys.
I’m not sure how to test gh or kh
I have brightwell aquatics remineraliz-p
I tested my tap with a tds meter and it came out at over 500 ppm. Even worse, my tanks were over 600! I am thinking about converting to ro or rodi water. I have a re mineralizer which I plan on using. If i use this with rodi will it effect my plants? Would using ro or rodi be the same if I’m...
I have 3 other heavily planted tanks and will be using water and filter media from my biggest tank.
The tank is 24 inches long so is the stocking you recommend leaving room for breeding?
Yes, I am aware that they need live food. I have two in a smaller tank at the moment and have been feeding mosquito larvae and Daphnia daily. I’ll just leave the crabs out
How does this sound: 12 chili rasboras, 6 Asian stone catfish, 2 pom pom crabs, 2 clown killies, 2 gold neon dwarf gobies, and one or two scarlet badis. Keep in mind that it will be heavily planted by the time I add the fish and I do 50% water changes weekly on all my tanks.
Ps: Im back in the...
I got back and was able to do some trimming. The plants grew much faster than I expected! The dwarf hair grass is finally starting to spread and may be filled in after a few more weeks.
The amount of surface plants is unbelievable!
Some more pictures
Its been a while since I posted but I recently got another tank! I have been dying to try out a no co2, ferts, or filter dirted tank and have finally done it.
Brace yourself! I was surprised too!!!
This was the picture I was sent while on vacation. I plan to clean it up when I get home...
I have never had great success feeding daphnia to smaller fish because of their hard exoskeleton but my tetras absolutely love scuds!
I also just got a striped panchax. They are fantastic bug killers, jumping fully out of the water to eat insects from my hand!
Also, how do I know that it is ready for fish? I’m starting to see scuds and daphnia. Is this a sign?
One more, do you think it will be difficult to swim with the algae?
