    My New Malawi Landscaping

Hi Guys I added my first lot of fish yesterday but I fear I have done the wrong thing. I took the LFS advice I went into my lfs and told them my tank stats and they suggest that I introduce 10 at first into my 390 litre tank. They also said I should introduce pairs at first, so 5 pairs. Is...

    Show Us Your Pipes!

Some people have given me the idea of integrating pvc pipes in with the ocean rock. This allows me to use less rock put span a bigger area. This also makes nice little cave structures for the mbunas. Can anyone show me their tank pics where they have used this method? My hubby is not sure they...

    Lighting And Problems With Temperature

Hi, not sure this is the right forum. I am maturing my new 4ft tank at present. It comes with 2 dual t8 lighting ballasts. Each ballast has 1 aqua glow and 1 plant glow (I think). My problem is the tank is fine at 26 degrees when the lights are off but during the day when the lights are on the...

    My New Malawi Landscaping

Oh poops. I have read that article and anaerobic sand I am scared stiff now. I dont have sand I have coral gravel. Shall I take all the rock out again tomorrow and get rid of more gravel? Surely the gravel behind the rocks will still become anaerobic unless the fish sieve through it. I will...

    My New Malawi Landscaping

Regarding the different colour rocks. I agree that the tank will look better without them. But they cost about £15! I guess I have made a few buying mistakes on the way. I should have bought less gravel and given the coloured rocks a miss. This would have saved me a few quid...

Hi Yes it is a rena 4ft tank. 380 litres. You are right I can't wait! I have had it running for 2 weeks but have changed the external filters twice so I guess its only been set up a couple of days really. Still a long way to go before I add fish but I will certainly use the help of peeps on...

    My New Malawi Landscaping

Thats the LFS for you! After a little advice I have taken a bit of sand out the front since the pic. Thanks for all your advice guys. Just 1 more question. Hopefully my tank will be cycled in May/June. But I will not rush things. DO you think I need to introduce all the fish at once? I will...

    My New Malawi Landscaping

Thanks Mama I will change the water every week. There may be a period of 2 weeks when I go away in July. I use to keep a marine tank so I fully understand the need for regular maintenance. Do you think the gas pockets could form behind the rockwork? Obviously I cannot clean the sand behind there.

Blimey Dave, mine cost me £150 in total, there is about 75kg in there. Regarding the sand. Can I just remove some of the sand from the front of the tank? I don't fancy taking all the rocks out again.

    My New Malawi Landscaping
