    55 Gallon Stocking Help

Ok, thank you all so much! I have decided on my aquarium now and have greatly appreciated all the help. I didn’t want to sound cruel when I asked if there’s anything that eats the fry and I am glad none of you took it that way. Once again, thank you all.

Like any specific breed(s) of catfish or any fish?

Is there any fish I can keep that you recommend will eat the eggs and/or fry?

    Fish good with high PH

I’m actually not sure what has killed your fish. Tetras are normally pretty adaptable. I have 6 neon tetras myself and have them in some soft water, but my PH is higher then what they prefer. A little over neutral (7). I have had them for three months now and they are all doing fine. I’m not...

    55 Gallon Stocking Help

So if I buy a bonded pair, that’s all I could keep? That’s fine with me, but when they breed, do they eat their babies? I really don’t have anything for raising the young in.

Ok, how many Angelfish can I have in a 55 gallon if they were the only fish in there?

    55 Gallon Stocking Help

Or if I do aquascape and make it a heavily planted tank, Could I have only a couple of angels? Like as a species only tank? Would they uproot carpet plants if they were along the entire foreground?

    55 Gallon Stocking Help

I have been watching their stock list for a while now and have not seen any apistogrammas. They have rams and jewel cichlids along with the curviceps like I said. They do have some Kribensis, but I am not sure if that will work. I know that they are African river cichlids that actually do better...

    55 Gallon Stocking Help

My LFS has some curviceps. They don’t, however, have any apistogrammas or keyhole cichlids. They do have rams. Bolivian and German. I have a question about the rams. Will they swim in the bottom only, or will they dwell to the middle sometimes? As far as Angelfish. My sister really loves them...

    Hexagon tank stocking ideas?

I completely agree. I was wanting nano fish, so how does this stocking sound? If I have a decently planted tank with some floating plants and a big driftwood in the middle and sticking up, could I have neon tetra, Pygmy Corys, otos, and maybe some small killifish

    Oh yeah!

African cichlids can be cool in a tank. They are very beautiful. Same for South American cichlids. Maybe some oscars or Jack Dempseys. Another one of my favorite is to have a bunch of schooling fish in a planted tank. Like if you have a heavily planted, maybe even aquascaped tank with like 100...

    Oh yeah!

Even though filters can be expensive, since it is a free tank that cuts down in the cost significantly! My uncle had a couple turtles in a 55 gallon. When they died, he gave the tank to me for my leopard gecko, which I also got for free from my friend. When my leopard gecko died a couple years...

    Hexagon tank stocking ideas?

My tank is two feet tall, 1 foot wide, and each side of the hexagon is eight inches roughly

    Oh yeah!

Do you know what you are stocking it with?

    55 Gallon Stocking Help

My water is soft with a neutral ph. I’m sure the driftwood in the aquascape will bring it down. But as far as schooling recommendations, I love them! Corydoras are really cute, and I love the uniqueness of the shape of Pencilfish and hatchetfish. But I don’t know any cichlids that go with them...
