    Mexicana is the parental species for the cave mollies and sulpuriana for open water species that live in streams with high sulphur dioxide content. Always on look out for livebearers if you are in UK and have for Salle/exchange.

    Yes, although not blind they use lateral line sensors to find food and mates, also have adaptions to acidic waters in their bone structures and very high tolerances for high sulphur dioxide and low oxygen.
