Fish can go up to 2 weeks without food. So 12 days should be fine. If your worried you could add a holiday block or ask someone to feed them twice whilst your away, by giving them 2 premesured pots and hide the rest of the food. Personally think they will be fine.
What size tank do you have and what fish do you have.
If you have space have you thought of adding a couple of female mollies so that the male can even out the love between them.
Cories are very social fish and do far better when in groups of 6+ if you can rehome a couple of mollies and the platies I would then up the cories to 6. But I think you are fully stocked as it is.
Maidenhead aquatics in certain branches offer filter ceramics for 50p I'm sure I read it right. And there are a couple of online suppliers that do this.
It is out there but its not widely advertised/known about.
I use prime at the moment, but now I can't get hold of it so I bought some pond dechlorinater as its much cheaper than tetra products and such as its heavily concentrated. But once its been running for a year I will more than likely not use any if I'm only going to change 25 litres once a week.
Plus 2 media will fit into a u3 but it will be a bit smaller.
When you get the u3 don't use the black carbon pads instead just stick the plus 2 sponges in there instead.
You will see what I mean when you get it.
I would do a 50% water change. With ammonia that high you encourage the wrong bacteria.
Also 8ppm is the maximum the kit goes up to. So its more than likely higher thab that. Do a 50% water change. That should tell you how much us in there. If it still says 8ppm do a full water change and...
Clown are social fish and should be kept in groups of 6+. 6ft tank should be fine for them but certainly not in a 200 litre tank when they are fully grown.
Also suggesting to throw in a fish to combat a problem isn't good advice. Also advice that wasn't even asked for. I was only checking on...
I would like your help please. On the underside of my bog wood I found 2 slimy round blobs of slime. Inside it looked like there were grains of sand. I removed them as I have a small snail problem and didn't want to take a risk on them being snail eggs.
I have cories, flame danios, golden...
The plant was Anubus(sp?) I think. Yeah tie or glue it to wood or decor and the roots will attach to it.
Sounds to me your ex is giving you sound advice to me.
