Well, sadly I report that Ace passed while we were at church tonight. My daughter is pretty upset (she got him March 2003 as a birthday present) and my wife is fairly distraught as well. We're not sure if we should go with a betta again or maybe a more durable species... just not sure right now.

So he's basically on his way out? To answer the other questions, it's like he's actually changing color to a lighter shade. No film or anything.

Our Betta has recently ceased moving a whole lot (he pretty much just rests on the bottom of his tank breathing) and is starting to turn all white. He's also not eating. Could this be Ick or something worse?
