Hi all.  I did a big water change. Nitrite and ammonia levels all back to zero later that night and the next morning. Looks like it has stabilised. The fish are all swimming about normally and eating well.   Thanks for all your help :D

They seem to be ok now. They are still swimming about and not gasping. They are also eating - a lot. Thought I dont feed them too much because im worried the ammonia will spike.   I tested the water today -  nitrite 0 and ammonia also  0   Fingers crossed that everything goes ok :D Will keep...

Ok understood.   I have never been able to get good nitrate results either.   I'll keep monitoring and once things have stabilized properly i'll do a big water  change.  Will keep you posted.

So I added the salt as per instructions above. I added an airstone I added a little bit of gravel from my established tank   The fish have now stopped gasping at the top. They are swimming around normally. The tank is looking a bit cloudy, but at least the fist survived another night...   I did...

OK will do.  I feel so sorry for the fish and the old lady lol. I really hope they survive. THey're such pretty little fish.
