Dear Friends,   One of my 3 black skirt tetras is not looking as it was earlier. I can see its both the eyes are little popped out and now she is not eating properly from last 3 days.   Earlier I had 4 of these Tetras.. and 3 weeks back one of them passed away..  she also got the same but worst...

omg...!!  Dropsy...  oh.. no....!!   Let me try my best to save my fish..  Thank you so much for identifying the issue...  I have seen couple of pics on internet for dropsy and yes my fish has the same look now...

Hi All,   I have 2 fan tails and 4 black tetras since last 8 months and all are doing just fine, but 3 days back when I woke up I saw one of my fantail, got tummy bigger than normal. I also noticed that she has got her scales vertically outwards, just like she got goosebumps..  or in other words...

Growth could be because of many reason.. Picture will give help to identify.. you should be very careful when you have such a small 5g tank.  how many minnows are thr ..?  how old the tank is..? If it is a new tank them I am worried abut upcoming days as well ..

did you get air stone installed..  ?

bacterial bloom do not occur within 2 days..  It may take 2 weeks to a month... and that also requires presence of at least 1 fish.   I would suggest to start with 1-2 fishes.. and wait 2 weeks..  during this period keep 20% water change after every 3 day..  I hop this will help..

If I am not wrong your fantail is very young and not bigger than 4 inches head to tail..  if this is the case thn 29 gallon is not a bad choice for now.. but u need to upgrade in future as she grows..   Please do not clean the complete tank and also do not change filters so soon.. Heavy water...
