Preparing My Betta Tank -- What Other Fish?

I was just thinking fish. Snails I shouldn't see a problem with, and the horned nerite that cowgirluntamed menstions are cute, I have two in my tank and they look like bumble bees (so says my wife and toddler). As I said (If (big if), you were having any other fish with a Beta then I would...

Preparing My Betta Tank -- What Other Fish?

If (big if), you were having any other fish with a Beta then I would say to add those fish first, not the Betta. If the Betta is added first then the tank becomes his tank.   Personally I would keep it as a Betta only tank as you never know what type of Betta you will get; as stated above some...

Can I Have Pygmy Cory In This?

Thank you. Same, no ferts here either and all plants going well. I need to get my hand in and untangle some of the stems, but I don't want to trim just yet as I like that it's taking some of the intensity of the lights out of it.   I kind of wish I'd done a journal on this now as it was...

Can I Have Pygmy Cory In This?

Just a little update, I added more hiding space for the corys with an ornamental piece I had hanging around, I also added 10 x Amazon Frogbit, and 10 x Salvinia natans (floating fern/floating moss). As you can see, the plants have really taken off and you can just make out a couple of the cory...

    What Is This Please?

Thanks everyone, I thought it may be but just wanted to check with the colour. I'll give them a 24hr fast. I've just dropped a few sinking wafers in for the corys but I've not seen the endlers go for them before and the cory gang don't usually take too long to finish them.

    What Is This Please?

So for Father's Day my wife bought me some Endlers from the kids, I've just noticed this on one of them Apologies for the quality, hard work trying to get a pic of an endler with my phone. It's a red "string", only on this one fish. It's swimming fine, eating and generally acting normal...

A (Not So) Funny Story From Today

I love my little horned nerites, my toddler thinks they're bumble bees :D

A (Not So) Funny Story From Today

I suppose it is kinda funny really and it serves the staff right for not knowing. I have only seen them in P@H, none of the other stores near me (and I have at least 5 non-chain) stock them which is a shame.     That's why I like them, they're unusual :)

A (Not So) Funny Story From Today

So I've been looking for some Rabbit Snails to go in my 20g long and the cheapest I'd seen online was £5.49 each (then £12 delivery) then someone I know mentioned they'd seen them in P@H so I took a drive and yes they had them listed there 2 for £7.   Brilliant! I thought.   I asked one of the...

My Little Fluval Edge 6 Gallon

Sorry, the CPDs are Celestial Pearl Danio, or Galaxy Rasbora as some still call them. They are beautiful little fish, Latin name Celestichthys Margaritatus if you want to read up.     I do often wonder with the price of these "feature" tanks why they can't supply an appropriate heater, but...
