My Female platy gave birth to her first batch of fry about 31 days ago I managed to save five of her fry which are now perfectly healthy fun lil things. yesterday she began to give birth again i put her in the breeding trap and she gave birth to about 40 fry heads. Thats right just the head...

I have one of those too and the fry manage to sneak back up and get eaten. I had a lot of trouble with mine when the mothetr gave birth so be weary and be ready to execute a rescue! :flex:

I was watching TV this evening and looked over to check on my heavily pregnant Platy and see a lone little fry swimming at the bottom of the breeding trap. Unfortunatly the little guy found a hole and found his way back up to be with his mom and become an evening snack. this happened three times...

My female swordtail looks sort of like what you're describing

I have a white coloured female platy. In her gravid spot i can see pinkish lil circle type thingys ( haha don't you love my terminology) anyhoo she's in a 10g with 2 male swordtails and 3 other female platies. I got her approx 3 weeks ago. She is considerable more plumo than my other females...

I had this happen with some of my gravel and I too thought that it was an algea problem. But imagine my supprise when I removed some of it and noticed that it was the color coating coming off and revealing the natural gravel color underneath. I eventually changed all my gravel to te natural type...

Is it possible for a platy and a swordtail to breed? The guy at the the LFS told me so.. sounds a bit *fishy* to me ( haha sorry i couldn't resist) :rofl:

It is quite pretty. Makes my room look very tranquil. Its hard to explain.. but its a shakespeare themed tank .. :thumbs: :cool:

Right now i have a 10g (us) tank. I have 3 platies and 3 swortails in there now? I'm wonderfing .. is my tank fully stocked? or can i add more fish? If i can.. what do you reccomend? thanks!! d:D
