Also check your ph level as neons prefer slightly acidic water. My ph is 6.6. I’m also relatively new but I’ve learned so much on here and by researching constantly :)

I think you could get 15-20 neon in that size tank easily. Neons prefer slightly acidic water, my ph is 6.6 and I’ve got 9 neons in a 50l tank.
