No corel. Just black stone which has always been in all my tanks - and is also in the other tanks. I will try removing the ornaments.
Regarding the aeration and CO2:

Ok thanks.
I said 'oxygenation' but I mean aeration. It was my understanding that aeration causes out-gassing of carbon dioxide...and as carbon leaves the water - there is an increase in pH (there are a good number of sources that confirm this. It's the opposite effect of adding CO2). At...
Thanks I will give this a try.
I have another 60L downstairs, the pH in this tank is 7.6. It has the same substrate and ornaments from the same brand, it also has fake planets - though of a different brand. Pretty much everything in each tank is the same. Except the water in the 60L...
I've been having a problem with my tank recently. The Ph keeps increasing. My water from tap is 7.4 - I put this in the tank, and over the course of a few days it raises to 8.2, and will probably keep increasing...however I do a water change at this point.
Water stats:
Ammonia: 0.0
Nirite...
Thanks. I just put the airstone in the tank and as I did so one of the danios died right there on the spot. Only one remaining now.
I will remove the decor and do a water change. Not sure if there is any chance of saving the remaining danio now though...and I don't have another tank to...
Thanks for the quick reply. I did wonder about lack of air.
The filter outlet is quite close to the surface and it is causing the water to 'stir' quite rapidly at the surface...but it's possible that due to the heat it isn't enough.
One thing I forgot to mention in my post is that the...
Bit of a disaster in the fish tank. I say all the fish are dead, but there are two danios remaining.

Thanks for the replies guys!
So it looks like it will have to go back, the plant still smells - and you are right it's not worth taking the chance.
I have a 60L tank with 10 neon tetras, a bristlenose pleco and a few cherry shrimp. :)
Hi all :)
I just got two fake plants from Pets at Home - as soon as I opened the packet I noticed one of them was very smelly (a strong plastic / chemical smell). The other one didn't smell at all, they are both the same type.
I soaked it is warm water for a few hours, but it still smells...
