oh i was assuming that it incorporated a heater. Is it possible to add a small one without ruining the look of the tank? Presumably a regular heater cable will require some drilling so that the lid fits down ok?

oh right, would like to avoid that situation as the planting is important. If there are some other fish similar in behaviour to oto's that would be perfect. I was very happy with the farlowella's and they looked unusual so its a real shame they didnt work in acommunity tank.

I did fancy the idea of bristlenose plecs but was advised they can be quite destuctive to plants as they have a habit of rooting about and disturbing them. Is this likely to happen if I had them?

Thanks for the replies guys. Sounds like its well worth trying then as its cheap and it might make a good intro to C02 as well as its something id like to get into eventually in my other tanks. I shall put it on my christmas list!
