I know this probably isn't exactly forum-worthy but???? I REALLY need some people who KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING to tell her she's WRONG about the fish. I need ADULTS to say how BAD a non-cycled tank is for fish.

Alright, I've HAD to put my tyretrack eels into a non-cycled 30gl tank. I //KNOW// it's horrible for them but I CAN'T return them and I HAVE NO ONE to take them. I haven't been able to get the cycle started, the last few bottles of bacteria were DEAD and completely ineffective and the problem...

Forgot to leave an update/delete this post last night... Figured out what happened pretty quickly. Thank you anyway, though! Looks like the eels are just finally going after larger food - Later that day I found half of a Danio in one of the logs. Guess they had to have been trying to hunt them...

This morning I woke up to find my Danios completely out of their normal shoal, smashing into the sides of the tank, torpedoing themselves down into the substrate and just all around making a commotion! The only thing that I know of that happened last night is that at some point the heater got...

So, I admittedly hadn't been cleaning the gravel in my 10 gallon tank for about a week, as the hose is broken. It had no living plants as I know nothing about caring for them... However. Somehow they got into the tank anyway! There's two sprouts I've seen so far, growing from the base of two...

I have five Zebra Danios who have for the most part been great with eachother. Three females and two males with at least one obvious breeding pair; a large female I call "Big Bertha" and her smaller man "Henry". One of the unpaired females however, had been pestering "Big Bertha" and "Henry"...

... With that many males I can say without a doubt all your females are pregnant! In fact, it would probably be a good idea to get more females or get rid of some males. It's best to have at least two females per male... Anything less than that and the males will end up exhausting the girls...

When we first added a Mystery Snail to a tank, they did the exact same thing for a couple of days. It could be that they are stressed or nervous due to the change in environment, just like any other animal. Don't worry too much as they can hide out for several days before finally 'coming out of...

Looks like they're probably Tyretracks after all. The place I got them from only showed the common names for their fish unfortunately, so looks like I'm guessing until they get older. Thank you very much, by the way!

I should have known by that look in their eye. I'm almost scared of their future appetite... One day in there and they had some uncontrollable brown algae almost fully eaten.

You're actually right. It looks like the other Glofish may have almost gotten the shrimp blamed! While having another go at getting a pic, I saw them get into a pretty nasty fight! Which is strange, because their tank is in the sitting room and no one in the house has seen them fight before...
