there is no proof for what causes the sinal defect but it is believed as said before that it could be generational or even genetical. Ive had a couple like this too and i know that they werent generational.

ouch!! far too small for them, an overload can also crash a tank. I too would put them back in the larger tank and leave them for atleast a month to get their order sorted. 10 females in a 25L is also too small. 4 females to a 25L works well.

arh it could be, ive never been there, I remember ordering a mass of aquairums from Boss aquariums when we opened the shop and it took them a whole day to get to the south coast. they arrived at 2am.
