sadly I think our tigers (the dither fish) are currently trapped between the two rosies - one in the old stamping ground and one that has taken up in the other rocks! We'll have to take one of them out for the good of the tank.

Yes I have them in with Tiger Barbs, Odessa Barbs and Dwarf Chain Loaches.
They've had various broods but the other fish eat them. The last brood had more luck as they could hid in amongst an outbreak of moss. Since three of the fry survived (2 have gone now but we couldn't catch baby...
We have allowed a "situation" to develop through time constraints - our kribs managed to raise a daughter and we have left her in the tank till she is as big as her mother. We think we know which is which as one looks "younger" - less thick set and somehow more "smooth" however this one seems...

We now have three little (1" long) Krib fry as need to move them out of their parent's tank as Rosy is getting a little territorial and they keep wanting to go home and she's getting ready for more babies :) Whilst the fry don't seem to be in any immediate danger (they're more than able to get...
The primer suggests that they should have the same size tank as they came from however we don't have space for another 50 USG tank (!) - will the 5 USG tank do?
Thanks
Miles
We have Big Bad Burt and Rosy (our Kribs) in a tank containing barbs (tiger and odessa) and loaches in a 50 USG planted tank (no CO2). They all rub along with Burt having a dislike of loaches and the loaches ignoring this fact. They routinely raise some fry which get eaten by the rest of the...
Sorry mate, it's been a long day and I'm feeling thick.
Did you do a single treatment (6 days) with 3 clean up vacs in that time or did you treat continuously for 1 month with three vacs in that time? I assume that the carbon went it at the end of the treatment (after the 1/3 water change)...
Update: we bought the suggested medication and treated the fish at half dose for the full 6 days 7 days ago (i.e. they are +1 day from the last dose which was Sunday night).
They are looking a lot better, mainly clear of white spot and a lot calmer. One or two has single visible white dots on...
Oh by the way we have some Ektol cristal which mentions Icthyophthirius as something that it deals with however it is possible that the're just claiming to cure everything???? If this stuff could work it would be nice to be able to start the treatment 12-24 hours before we'd be able to get any...
We have got white spot (white spots on the tails of some of the fish, especially the dwarf chain loaches) and they have been flashing for a while now but until now there has been no actual sign that this was not just playful behaviour.
Given the mix of fish what would you suggest? Our plan of...
Assuming that your preferred location is in front of a radiator (and slightly above it I assume) my suggestion is that you get some good insulation material (look at your builder merchant for some thin high performance sheet material) and place it between the tank and the radiator. I would run...
