Hi all,
I have only been keeping fish for a few months so I was suprised to find some fry in my tank. I now find that a high percentage of mollies are carrying young when you buy them and it's nothing to do with my ability to keep fish :)
Well, that was approx 2 months ago now and after an...
Glad to say there is a happy ending to the missing clown loach saga.
Found him cramped underneath the heater within the consealed Jewel filter unit. Must have ducked in there whilst I removed the power head for all of 2 secs, can't see how else he could get in there.
Seems perfectly happy now...
I am due to move home shortly, roughly an hours journey from my current home.
I am looking for advice on the best way to transport my fish and aquarium. I have asked a couple of guys in local fish shops but neither seemed to be particularly clued up in this area, therefore I would appreciate...
Thanks for your replies and sharing your clown loach experience, sounds like you need to keep an eye on these little fellas.
I've removed all ornaments and plants from the tank leaving literally nothing but water, gravel and fish. No sign of Mr C Loach, not even his remains. I even checked...
Right....I've checked all of the possible hiding places (Hollowed log, rocky cave, plants and gravel) and he's definitely not there. My assumption has to be that he's dead and probably been eaten.
Excuse me for my novice naivety here, but considering he was in the tank only yesterday wouldn't...
Hi all,
I've only been keeping tropical fish for 4 months and I'm experiencing something that just doesn't make sense............... One of my clown loaches has disappeared, nowhere to be seen.
I've looked in all the hiding places but there is no sign of him. I can only conclude that:
1. He...
Hi all,
I have recently re-stocked my 20 gallon tank and all was looking good, until i noticed this morning one of my silver sharks is covered in tiny white spots.
I have been to my lfs to get some white spot treatment and added the dosage according to instructions. In small letters towards...
Thanks for your advice dwarfgourami. I'll get going with the water changed this pm. The pleco that I have is a bristlenose and is currently about 3 inches long, so sounds as though I will be ok there then.
I have run the water test on my tap water, the results being:
NO3 - 40 same as my tank water
NO2 - 0
GH - 18 same as my tank water
KH - 17 same as my tank water
PH - 8.5 same as my tank water
I have run the water test on my tap water, the results being:
NO3 - 40 same as tank...
thanks for that catxx.
I do have some bogwood in the tank (and yes the plec does love it), so should I be looking at adding something to the tank to reduce the PH level?
I have taken a look at some guppy piccies online, like you say a great variety of colours so looks like a good place for me...
hi all,
I'm new to keeping tropical fish so please forgive any stupid questions, I guess you gotta start somewhere.
I got a 70litre Juwel Rekord kit recently and after 2 weeks I was pursuaded my lfs that it would be ok to start adding a few hardy fish (without any knowledge of my water stats)...
