Hello. Strange behaviour for a healthy, happy cichlid. He sleeps on top of a leaf when the light is off. When I switch the light on I have about 30 seconds until he wakes up and swims with the rest of his friends. Has anyone seen this behaviour? http://imgur.com/u3lqHqV http://imgur.com/gho6ttG

Thank you very much for your informative reply. My LFS told me a clown loach and yoyo loach was the same thing. They said a yoyo loach is just the american name for it.   I'll definitely do a bit more research in to this now! :) Thanks

Hey Eagles, the pictures are in my original post at the bottom :) It's so hard to get a clear picture because they swim so fast, sorry :( Did you need a more specific picture of their fins?

Sorry I don't understand, are you saying that maybe the guppy and betta are nipping each others fins? So you don't think this is a disease? I hope that's the case, it's as easy as separating the two if this is the problem :)

:( Then why did my LFS tell me I can fit another 2 guppies on top of all this if I wanted to? Grr. I'll get rid of the bala like I said, and I think the betta and one guppy will die because of this disease, so I won't replace them if I'm overstocked. Would that still be overstocked?   Thank you...

Any LED lighting that gets that hot is faulty or dangerous and should be returned. Only really high power LEDs designed for outdoors or lighting a large room would get this hot and they almost always have a heat sync on them.

Actually I bought 2 brushnose catfish and they ate it all in about a week :) They love it! They don't seem sick either. Fungus is only found in the tubing to and from filter (where fish cant get)

It actually looks nice on that log.
