one more thing - does any of you have a great job of trying to catch the fish to quarantine etc? I spent at least an hour today chasing one around the tank!
good news, so i know it's them that are nipping, I will take them back asap tomorrow.
So do you know if the bettas will get on with everything else in the tank?

it looks like the bloodfin tetra can be aggressive "They are compatible with fish of similar size but may nip fins of slow moving small fish such as neons. " which is most probably why my guppy died. I am a bit concerned leaving them in overnight but I have no choice at the moment..

I posted yesterday about the problem with the penguin tetras and zebra danios as they were chasing around my guppies and I notice there was a HUGE bite in one of the fish.. I took the three culprits back this morning, or so I thought!
What type of fish is this? (above) I was thinking it was...
and i managed to get a picture of the nipped danio, he's extremely shy and is hiding in the cave. see the nip under in his stomach?? does that look like a bite to you?
i'm suprised he's survived, do you think he'll survive any longer? :(
