    Clowns and Lions and anenomes

Anemones are pretty hard. You may have trouble keeping one in your first tank, especially with a big waste-producer like a lion (think ammonia). How big is this tank? Hope you're up for a challenge . . . .

    Crazy Percula Clown Behavior

If he doesn't have an anemone, he may think that he has one. My clowns will occasionally wiggle around in the water, acting as if they're writhing in an anemone's tentacles. Just a bit of inexplicable behavior . . . :dunno:

    Feather Duster Worms! Woohoo!

I also am fortunate enough to have a colony of feather dusters in my tank. I now have about 75 of them in 4 cubic inches . . . cramped, but they love it! It looks awesome! :D I have never fed them, and they don't need to be fed most of the time. If you feed your fish, all the little bits...

    New fish

Either take the crabs or the snails out of the tank. If you've noticed, hermit crabs need other creature's shells, as they don't form their own. How do they get these shells? They kill and eat snails, even if the shell proves to be too large/small for them. Get rid of one or the other. As...

Aptasia Why is it so bad?

Very nasty creatures!!! To get rid of them, if you don't want to get a shrimp, you can also use a syringe. Get a clean one (with or without a needle), and fill it full of either extremely hot water or calcium additive. Stick the creature with it, and then inject the full syringe...

    Ich on a boxfish

FYI, the poison that boxfish release is poisonous to everything. If they released it into the water, you'd have to do an immediate water change, or everything, including the boxfish itself, would die shortly after. Just answering your question, sumer_kay.

    Puffer eating snails?

Stryker's right. A puffer will eat any invertebrate it can find. It may have been nice as a juvenile, but the older they get, the more destructive they become. Don't count on being able to turn this tank into a reef.

First SW Tank - getting excited!

If you don't like the appearance of hundreds of copepods in your tank, don't worry about it. Just wait until you get some fish. I had copepods in my tank too at first, but now my two clowns have rendered them extinct.

    Anemone Combinations

I've already got one, so I know about the "musical corals" thing. Thanks for answering my questions! :D

    Anemone Combinations

Editor's note: The questions are in bold, so you don't need to waste your valuable time reading all of this. I have two clowns living in my 58 gallon aquarium tank. They have been in there for a few months now, and they're getting along pretty well. There's also a rose anemone that's been...

    Rose anemone habits

I have just gotten a rose anemone a few weeks ago. (I got it on Aprill 19). It has not shown any dead spots, and it appears healthy on the outside. It is eating once a week, like I was recommended. Everything about it seems normal However, now it has started to shrink up in the mornings...

I know its going to be hard work...

Did anyone look at the stocking list? Clown loaches and many others of those fish are freshwater, aren't they? Why is this post in the salt water fish area? I ask again, WHY IS THIS HERE? How come no one has noticed that all of these fish you are planning on putting into a salt water tank...

    SEAHORSES!!!

Do not get giant seahorses! If you have to get them, then get the dwarfs, not the giants!

    Urgent!!

I can't give much advice here. I heard that they were for expert reef keepers only, so I wouldn't know. It sounds as if its stomach was hanging out.

    Clowns and anemones

I thought I read somewhere that condi anemones aren't good for tanks with clownfish? Was I wrong?
