Hey! New Here And Ready To Talk Fish

All I have put in my tank are fake plants I have put in past tanks, a large fake driftwood tree stump looking thing that someone else used in a past tank, sand from Petco, and a filter someone used when I bought the tank. It has a new filter cartridge though. And the filter hadn't been used...

Hey! New Here And Ready To Talk Fish

Nevermind....I found out what I bought has surfactants and isn't actually pure ammonia. Back to the drawing board.

Hey! New Here And Ready To Talk Fish

So I used the ammonia calculator in the cycling website. I bought pure ammonia from the dollar tree. The calculator is saying I need .33 mL of ammonia to get 3 ppm. Is that correct?? For some reason I thought I would be putting a lot more in there. Also my water is already at .25 ppm for some...

Stocking A 29 Gallon In A Month And Need Help

I looked up endlers and they look awesome. I hope they have them where I live. Not sure I have seen them here before. I will go look today.   As another idea, have any of you ever had female bettas in a community tank? I heard they aren't aggressive, especially in big groups. Any thoughts...

Stocking A 29 Gallon In A Month And Need Help

You definitely know your stuff! Well then maybe I will say no to neons (definitely a bummer). Are cardinal tetras better with hard water?   Would glow light tetras, black neons, and herlequin rasboras get along ok? only downside to this is not much color. If i have all male guppies won't they...

Well that's good to know they are hardy at least. Any thoughts on harlequin rasboras?

Stocking A 29 Gallon In A Month And Need Help

Sorry I totally forgot to add that. That's pretty crucial information. So its 30" L x 12" W x 18" H. My water is pretty hard so I bet the gouramis wouldn't work well. I hear neons can make it in hard water though from other people. What are your opinions?

Stocking A 29 Gallon In A Month And Need Help

I am purchasing a 29 gallon aquarium soon and will cycle it according to the page that everyone keeps using on this forum. I am trying to figure out the best way to stock the tank though. Here are some of my ideas. Please let me know what you think or if any of these are a horrible idea!    7...

    29 Gallon Setup Questions

Are they wide enough to completely cover the tank? I remember having one years ago but can't remember if it completely covered.

    29 Gallon Setup Questions

I am interested in buying a 29 gallon tank on craigslist but it is just the tank. I was wondering what any of you recommend as a cover for the tank? I don't need a hood just yet because I will borrow the one from my 20 gallon for a bit but didn't know the best place to purchase a cover that...

    20 Gallon Aquarium Stand Suggestions

If the stand was bowed with the center of the stand being higher than the edges, would the styrofoam still help? I didn't realize bowed would also mean the opposite, with the edges higher than the middle. I guess I am having a hard time seeing how putting styrofoam on it would make it level. I...

    20 Gallon Aquarium Stand Suggestions

Thank you for the suggestions attibones. I have used furniture for my ten gallons but I figured 20 gallons would be too much to ask of non-fish tank stands haha. So that is good to take into account!   Sorry for the horrible grammar. I was typing on my phone. I believe you can buy some at your...

Hey! New Here And Ready To Talk Fish

Oh well that is definitely reassuring. Are black neon tetras known for being hardy as well? If I do cardinals I have to buy them online which I'm hesitant to do since shipping is always an extra $30. Do you know of any good online places to get fish? I love those mosquito rasboras. I would...

Wow those are pretty fish too. Good to know about the zebras. They definitely look like active fish.
