Also, some fish like to jump. Having a top on the tank gives you peace of mind that they won't be able to get out. :)

We got Charlie a week ago from a local Aviary, he's 9 weeks old and he seems to be settling into his new home nicely

Platy update - The lump has finally gone! It took a good week but when I got in from work tonight it had disappeared. I'm really pleased and relieved for her and she is also looking far less bloated. She does however seemed to have developed a small bit of fungus on her tail fin. I am presuming...

Ok thanks for all your advice. I will continue to not feed for a few more days and make sure the water stays pristine. Fingers crossed she will get through this!
