    Where to buy quality fish?

May I also suggest taking a look at zimmermansfish.com or www.aquaculturestore.com for some really awesome native fish if your'e interested in them. Black banded, bluespotted and banded sunfish are all small and beautiful fish. Rainbow darter males and southern redbelly dace are gorgeous as...

    CAE discolored head

It is freshwater, the rocks I gathered from the river I caught all the other fish in the tank from so I'm not sure what type of stone it is. I think it is the remains of an old structure that used to be above the river ages ago but I honestly don't know haha. As for the type of fish he is, he...

    CAE discolored head

I have a chinese algae eater who is about 2 or 3” now and just recently his head started to change color. From far away it looked like a growth of some kind and I panicked that I had colunmaris again but when I look closely it looks almost like it’s just part of his skin or like an algae stain...

    Columnaris and Ich!

How about if I did just heat? are all my fish heat tolerant so that i could turn it up to 89? Reason is I have a whole bunch of crypts and last time Inussd salt they started melting. They were really expensive so I'd like to avoid it if possible!

    Columnaris and Ich!

About a month or two ago I introduced some bait shop fish to my tank and they ended up having columnaris. They all died within three days and that was the end of it. None of my other fish developed the disease so I didn't dose. Now I converted the tank to (mostly) southeast asian tank so it has...

    What do my fish have?!

I actually woke up this morning and some other fish (not the ones in the above picture) had fluffy white films growing on their mouth. I immediately pulled them out and gave them a salt bath. All other fish are showing no symptoms. Now there was one fish who always looked like he had his mouth...

    What do my fish have?!

Golden Shiners, sometimes called roaches at the bait shop. There are a lot prettier shiners in our rivers but these are easy access cause every bait shop has them by the hundreds lol. I still think they're cute

    What do my fish have?!

That's a relief!!!! I was doing a little bit of research also and was worried they might have columnaris and infect my whole tank. I had some left over melafix and starting dosing that since I had it (I know this doesn't cure columnaris), they also have tattered fins as so it'll help at least...

    What do my fish have?!

I purchased some fish from the bait shop and they are all acting normal but have this white stuff on their mouth. I know they live in terrible conditions and generally have tons of diseases but I just really like these fish. It doesn't look puffy or fuzzy really like a fungus. But it still could...

Black neon tetra in unheated tank?

Thanks for the link! That is a bit pricey but I can save up for it. Does putting a regular heater in there work? Also yes I am the same about exposed wires! Always have been lol

Black neon tetra in unheated tank?

The fish is called rainbow shiner, when they breed their colors are insane. But here in northern US its a bit hard to find someone who sells them. They are from southeaster US.

Black neon tetra in unheated tank?

I'm confused as to why everyone is acting like I'm stupid? You think I don't know extension cords exist? This is in my bedroom, I don't want a cord trailing across the floor and exposed. I spent a lot of time arranging my room and arranging this tank and trying to make everything in my room look...

Black neon tetra in unheated tank?

The tank is not empty, it has large rugged rocks essentially looking mountainous in the back of the tank. The main reason is the position of the tank in the room makes it barely reach the outlet (and this is the only place in my room that works as its the only corner out of direct sunlight). so...
