Sorry to report I elected to put the sick guppy out of its misery.. all it was doing was spiralling around all over the place, eating nothing and losing its colour.    I am keeping my fingers crossed for the other two guppies which seem fine at the moment.. if it is whirling disease, it doesn't...

I had to use a strip test (JBL Easytest) to test hardness, and roughly speaking I got: GH: around 10-14dGH (I do live in a hard water area). KH: around 6dKH

Quick update: I have put the sick guppy into a bowl in some aquarium water as it seemed to be getting further stressed by the attention from the other fish.. but I have no heater or filter for that bowl and am instead trying to keep the conditions stable by mini water changes.. still swimming...
