    Baby Celebes Halfbeaks

Thanks for the tips and suggestions.   A couple of pictures as requested, I've seen four in total, but last night couldn't find any and then this morning I saw two. Second picture

    Baby Celebes Halfbeaks

Last night I was doing a water change and noticed swimming about on the waters surface four little fishes about 5mm-8mm long. I can only assume because of their long thin shape that the pair of Celebes halfbeaks that were bought for me as thanks for looking after a friends hamster have bred...

    Which Apisto

I have a 275 litre community tank with two angel fish, 11 rummynose tetras, 5 cardinal tetras, 5 lemon tetras, 3 Beckford pencil fish and a bristlenose catfish. I'd like to add a pair of dwarf cichlids and was thinking either a male apisto with a couple of females or a pair of rams. I wondered...

    Apisto's

Sorry to jump on the thread, but saves starting a new one, about Apisto's, I've been thinking of getting Apisto's for my 275litre which currently houses a 11 rummynose tetra, 5 lemon tetra, 6 beckfordi pencil fish, 5 cardinal tetras, 1 ancistrus, two koi angelfish, and a pair of celebes...

    Different Types Of Tetra

My cardinals will sometimes shoal with my rummynoses, but my lemon tetras stay in their own shoal.

    Bristlenose Laying On It's Back

The past couple of mornings when I have looked in my tank my Bristlenose has been laying on his back on the bottom of the tank. He has a favoured piece of bogwood which he normally hangs upside-down on, but in the mornings it's almost as though he has fallen off. Had a good look when he's stuck...

    Snails!

Sorry to hijack the post, I am having the same problem with an increasing population of snails similar to the one pictured. Last night I must have removed 25-30 and this morning I counted at least another 10. So much for giving the plants a good wash before they went in the tank!   It's a...

    Celebes Halfbeaks - Information Welcome

Thanks for the replies and links.   I finally managed to get a couple of photos of the Halfbeaks, I believe the first is a male, with more colour and slightly less curved beak and the last two which are more plain are females.   The female one is regularly chasing the male one around the top of...

    Celebes Halfbeaks - Information Welcome

Thanks,   I'd had a read of that and another read just now, I'm guessing from the seems of things I have two female N. Ravnaki, as they both have curved beaks, while the colours may be varying slightly as they are settling in although I'm still not 100% certain.
