What Fish Do You Regret Buying?

Guppies for sure. I started with 3 in a 6.5 gallon and now I have 30+ In my 15g! Once I have room in my 55 they’ll all be going in there.

    Sick betta: swim bladder?

I would try fasting for three days, and if he’s still having issues try feeding frozen daphnia. Peas are also ok to use, but they’re harder for bettas to digest so peas aren’t what I’d recommend using. You can also add in Indian almond leaves, the tannins they leach have anti-bacterial and...

Do all guppies have minor pine cone

Looks normal to me. Unless it looks like the scales are actually pineconing instead of the scales just being visible, I would say that’s normal. I also breed endlers, which are similar to guppies, and I see their scales all the time.

Tips and tricks for fish keepers

Personally I feel like Melafix isn’t very effective, and I’ve actually seen it kill healthy bettas before, when used as a preventative. Unfortunately It can be dangerous to fish that have labyrinth organs.

Tips and tricks for fish keepers

One thing I always recommend is live plants, although in some cases (like in a cichlid tank) that may not be an option, but in general it can help if someone has nitrate issues.

Switched to sand - what to add?

I would go with either the corys or kuhli loaches. Both are great choices, and you won’t regret getting either. I personally prefer kuhli loaches, just because they’re more active but corys are still a great choice.

    Mentoring kids on aquarium keeping

Will they each have a tank? If so, maybe start out with a 5g betta tank for each of them and then later on they could focus on adding some live plants and maybe some shrimp, depending on the specific betta.

    How is everyone's tanks going?

Yeah, hopefully they’ll start breeding! They are in a 20g, so I’m not sure if there’s enough room for them to raise fry, but I have some extra tanks I can set up to raise the fry if I need to.

    How is everyone's tanks going?

Most of mine have been doing good, one tank is still recovering from camallanus worms. My shell dwellers are all doing well, and I might even be seeing some breeding behavior!

    Kribensis Vs Rams

The Apistos should be fine it that water. I completely forgot about them but I really recommend getting some!

    Kribensis Vs Rams

Kribs take awhile to start breeding but once they do they don’t stop. Very easy to breed and the fry are easier than rams. However, you’ll have to start out with a group of males and a single female. I tried forcing a male and female to pair up (well. I didn’t give them choices, I just put them...

    Help pls.

I think that even with their small size, it would be best to return them to there natural environment asap. We don’t know how big they’ll get or if a few had previous internal health problems that could spread to and harm the other fish in such a small environment. For now, I would be doing...

Can Myrio green live in a tank with hard water and high pH?

Recently got some from my LFS, right now it’s going through the usual new plant melt but I’m a bit worried. I’ve heard some plants, like hornwort just never grow back in a hard water tank that has a high pH. I want to make sure this plant will do well. Does anyone have any experience keeping...
