I CANNOT stress enough how excited I am to want more plants after I soon fill out the empty hole 😂 As for the shrimp, sorry but I wouldn't know. It to me looks like a copepod.

I heard people had success if they put shrimps/fish in first before the betta, since the fish would have the mindset of "this territory belongs to the shrimp". Or would at least just tolerate the shrimp. Yeah, you can try putting him in. If anything goes south, you can just take him out.

IMO it's animal cruelty/abuse. Don't they like forcefully inject the fish with some dye, and some don't even make it? I haven't seen any here in UK THANKFULLY.
