No fish will eat the waste of another fish.....anything you add to your tank (yes, even snails) will contribute it's own waste to the tank as well.

Right now I have a mixed fancy tank (2 fantails, 1 oranda, 1 lionhead, 1 moor, 1 ryukin) but I just love the idea of the asthetics of a "type specific" tank, or even mixing wen types (they freak my husband out so I love the idea of a tank for them hehe)
