I have 1 dwarf gourami and 8 pristella tetras. I currently feed them flake food, but would like to add more variety to the diet, I would prefer to have flakes still be the average meal, like feed flakes 4 times a week and other food 3 times a week, is this enough variety or should I add more...

If needed I can try and get better pics tomorrow, any other advice is appreciated.

Really? I've read on lots of places that they could be kept by themselves without any issue, even on sites like aquarium co-op they said 1 in a 5 gallon is great. Is this really true? Because I might set aside this tank for now then.

Neat, if I have to replace this one I'll look into one of these, otherwise, I might get some suction cups, stick them to the side of the tank, and attach something like this to them, then just place it around the water lettuce, so It doesnt move around much

Kind of a beginner here - What modifications do you put on a HOB filter other than changing filter media? Personally I've had a really good experience with this filter overall, it has lasted a while without any trouble, and seems to keep my tank clean.
