    Yeah, switched away from flakes a while ago. Those things cause a lot of bloat... We stick with peas and veggies, but if we absolutely much go with anything dry, we typically will let it sit in water to let it sink down. (: Thanks Everyone :P

    The fish tank is about 4 years old. I was thinking dropsy too, but its not really 'bloated' as in pregnant/ballon looking. I mean bloated as in a bad swim bladder.(Hence, the fish unable to swim upright?) I would say there were about two 'raised' scales. But they werent raised high or anything...

    Fish Symptoms: I was guessing 'gill flukes' but the gills aren't where its red, its the aread around its eye. The bloat is not too bad yet, but some scales (one or two) are slightly raised at the belly. Mouth is dislocated. Breathing heavily. No thrashing, itching.Actually attempted to eat some...
