My filter type is a hang-on-back and it also has a sponge intake on the end so nothing gets sucked up. Another question. Is there anything else I can add to the tank to live with the shrimp but not eat them like snails or something?

Hey everyone, I really want shelldwellers but I don't know what size tank. I would want to go as small as possible for the fish (as it is a desktop tank) What is the minimum size for a pair of shelldwellers? (Neolamprogus multifasciatus) while keeping up to date on fry removal.
