I started to worry about the thermometer as it was a cheapie. I tried another and found that my tank temp was 2deg higher than normal, maybe due to the weather. Maybe this was why the fish were flicking. The temp is back where it should be so i'll monitor it.

I did. All was fine and still is. Amm and Nitrite at 0. Nitrate at 10. Temp fine. ph steady also. Thats why I was unsure what the problem could be.

I only needed to add one teaspoon and that bought it back up to my normal level of 7.4. How often should I check that the pH isn't dropping?

Yeah, just tested it an pH is between 6 and 6.4! Normally 7.4. So a water change is needed then? 50% ok? Just when I thought I'd be ok to watch the football :crazy:
