    Guppy identification

This is a male moscow blue guppy. The commercial bred ones differ in intensity of the blue per individual male. One of the signs of commercial bred ones is that they show also a green hue when the light hits their body, just like yours.

🐡 FOTM ENTER NOW - December 2025 Fish of the Month Contest(Any Fish)

In my opinion, you're the first one who has done this. It's the fish of the month and not fishes of the month. Same goes for tank of the month or pet of the month. It's about a single specimen and a single tank.

Rosaline shark bloated, pregnant, or tumor?

It's not weird for egglayers to carry eggs around for a long, long time. But it could also be an internal problem. It doesn't look like it has dropsy if I look at the scales. But if it's an internal problem, it could be multiple things. Tumor, broken internal organ, worms, parasites, etc...

Do most schooling / shoaling fish end up as harems in an aquarium???

If you take a group of fish (no matter if they're schooling fish or not), it can depend on multiple factors whether dominance will occur or not. So, we can't state as a rule that we can't have multiple males in a group to avoid this. Yes, tank size is one of the factors. The amount of fish can...

will P. reticulata and P. wingei actively crossbreed?

Actually, feeder fish can be every type of fish. When it comes to feeder guppies, they're Poecilia reticulata and not specifically endlers or other types of wild guppies. And most of the time, they're wild type guppies instead of wild form guppies. But again, they can also be goldfish for...

will P. reticulata and P. wingei actively crossbreed?

As already been stated by my fellow members, they'll crossbreed for sure once kept together. You also have to know that both species are guppies. As I've written multiple times on this forum, guppies are divided into a small number of species: Poecilia reticulata Poecilia obscura Poecilia...

    Bubble eye

I wouldn't be surprised if they would breed this trait also in swordtails, platies or even mollies. The ornamental trade in Asia is full of it...

    Bubble eye

True! It can be done but shouldn't be. But the fact remains that there's sadly a market for such misshaped creatures. Same goes for the socalled lionhead. It's already a fact in guppies as well. It's sad! But especially in Asia, the demand for such fish is enormous.
