Have you tried water changes? Do you have any friends or an LFS that is willing to give you some used filter media to speed up the cycling? I had issues like this when i set up one of my tanks. it seemed to straighten itself out over time.

they are pretty much see through except for a tan or black spot in the middle. they dont seem to get any bigger. I have never seen any other snails in my tank other than my few nerites. Nerites shouldnt breed in freshwater correct?

There is no ammonia in the tank at all. i use strips and API drip kits

The temp is 78F No ammonia No nitrites No nitrates PH a bit over 7 right around 7.2   I know the tank isnt cycled. its new

I want to add a few of the oto catfish for bottom cleaners. I have had issues in the past with males fighting with other fish. mostly because the LFS told me they would be fine together. Will the oto catfish fight if i end up with 2 males?
