Again I think you're right colin. I did see an article suggesting it's a heart condition such as this zebra fish had in the pic below. ...either way, there is nothing I can do for the platy. Thanks again.

This is a juvenile fish but for some reason its chest is all puffed out like its been benching weights down the gym :D . its head looks tiny in comparison. The swelling is squidgy to the touch and its colour is almost white in comparison to the rest of fish. Any help appreciated. Thanks!

It came from the shop looking funny back in late august. I was not sure if it was just a deformity but still OK. I unfortunately never picked the fish but my young daughter. Pets at home was the shop. Is it likely that its just old? And do you get old fish in pet chain stores? I gave it internal...

She is dead so no suffering now. Thanks for the reply. I did remove it as soon as I saw it hiding from others as I just knew something wasn't right. It came from the shop looking deformed but I wasn't sure at the time if it was natural deformity or not.
