    Hikari Or Tetra Algae Wafers

I have four pleco in a 11o gallon and feed them Hikari algae wafers and they love it, always waiting to be fed at same time. Been using six months. Good product!

Tank Going Downhill Fast After 4+ Years

Where did you get the sand? It seems after you changed the substrate the tank started to go down from there. Possibly aenerobic bacteria altering chemistry somehow? Try removing the sand and replace with a coarser gravel or mix in to create more circulation within substrate. With the fish...

    Non Fertilized 110 Gallon

Thanks for the reply, I will keep up this "experiment" until I see a need for fertilizer. Im sure eventually there will be a need for some minor elements, probably iron. Just curious if anyone has had success long term?

    Non Fertilized 110 Gallon

I have a 110 gallon heavily planted tank, with a fairly heavy fish load that is about six months old. I have always fertilized in the past lightly, but after an algae outbreak about three months ago I wanted to see what would happen with no fertilizer, and have been amazed. The tank has CO2...

How Much Money Have You Spent On Your Fish?

Funny topic, I bet we all have spent more than we will admit. I just set up a free 20 gallon long tank in saltwater, thought I could do it relatively cheap....Wrong My wife saw it and asked how much have you spent, all I said was the tank was free looking up I now have corals and 4 T-5 lights...

Fish Shop Telling Me To Fish In Cycling...

I have never done fishless cycling, but have heard it works well. I have always cycled with fish, slowly building up stock starting with the hardiest ones. I have never had losses. As long as you change the water a little more than usual the first three weeks, and watch the ammonia level, you...

    Zebra Danio Fry!

No substrate is a good idea easier to keep clean. Boiled egg will also work but will pollute water quickly. Baby brine will survive a while in tank. Babies are fun! Finding homes will probably be your only problem. Good luck

    Zebra Danio Fry!

I would hatch out baby brine shrimp and begin feeding them now. A day or two after hatching and they should begin to feed. Water changes are important with babies, I would change a small portion -10% daily

I'm Seriously Worried About My Black Moor

Looks like bacterial infection to me. Four fish of this type in a ten gallon with poor water quality will cause bacterial infection.

    First Tank. Stocking Advice :)

I would stock slowly not all at once. Neons like somewhat soft water, and the livebearers like it somewhat hard but they will adjust if neutral. The ultimate load seems ok. Good luck!

Multiple Problems With Plants, Help Identify, Aponogeton Melting

Im not familiar with the product he is using, but sure looke like an iron deficiency to me.

Multiple Problems With Plants, Help Identify, Aponogeton Melting

The deficiency looks to me like iron. I would keep the flow beneath the surface if dosing with Co2 or it will release faster to the atmosphere. Light sounds good. Aponogetan die back seems odd, possibly stressed by something..high temp, ph fluctuation, or algae buildup

    Advice On Treating Tank Please.

I learned the hard way as well about quarantining fish. The cost of medication is about as much as a small 10 gallon tank, and the loss of fish more than a filter. I would reccomend a 50% water change after a three day course of treatment, but there are other products for bacterial/fungal...
