Ok so seems everybody was as confused as me. Well im even more at a loss this evening as ive returned from work and whatever is was has gone?! Fish seems ok and no trace of any ailment .... Alls well that ends well i suppose :-D

Hi folks A platy of mine has been looking a bit off colour for a day or so, and ive now just noticed a white growth on its back. Like a loose flap of skin or an extra fin kinda.... anybody any ideas on what it could be? I want to have an idea what i need to treat for before jumping in uninformed

  Honestly, that was my first thought when the first couple came. Just kinda concerned me once the leaves started to discolour and were taken over.    So all is well then...?  Will they go green again then.......what next?  thanks for putting my mind at rest

ok i already have a thriving 100L tank on the go, and now ive been given a small tank that was cluttering a colleagues shed. i obviously wasnt going to turn down a free tank set up, and originally only planned it to be a quarantine tank. or maybe to provide a separate home for fry.   however...

same thing happened to me, i manged to find a couple of survivors hiding. after advice from these forums i got them into a breeding box and just kept them separated until they were big enough to not fit into the others mouths. theyre doing great now and getting quite big! hope you manage to save...

yes i know, its a temporary home as i had to move the tank. the cabinet isnt under it all the way no, but i have taken temp. measures to support it. mustve taken the pic before id put it back under. thanks for pointer though, very eagle eyed! ;-)
