What fish off this list can I have in a 75 gallon peaceful community?

Bolivian rams are a different type: they’re adapted to cooler temps. Also more peaceful. Not quite as pretty, but still beautiful.

What fish off this list can I have in a 75 gallon peaceful community?

Most of what I’m planting in the tank is stuff like swords, red broad-leafed plants, and other broad-leafed and thick species. With some dainty carpeting plants and standout species I’m planning to add for flair, and some random rotala from my soon-to-be broken down betta tank. Hopefully they’ll...

    What’s a must-have fish for a peaceful 75 gallon community?

Ok, I’m off to Google about this. I’ve never really heard of anything like that happening, or had it happen: almost all of my fish lived out their full lifespan in the tank, some surpassing their normal lifespan. I am considering using topsoil for the substrate instead of a actual aquarium...

    What’s a must-have fish for a peaceful 75 gallon community?

Can I ask where you got the thing about Excel? I use it in all my tanks and it’s never done anything but help my plants. Same for the substrate. To be fair, most of my tanks have been heavily planted betta tanks and small 20-30 gallon communities, so that’s fairly different, but I’ve still never...

What fish off this list can I have in a 75 gallon peaceful community?

Alright! There’s Co2, so this should end up a heavily planted tank regardless of how I plant, but I’ll try to plant that way to leave space for the cory catfish.

What fish off this list can I have in a 75 gallon peaceful community?

Oh, I’m sorry, I forgot to mention that. I’m using pure RODI water, with no cuts. Supposedly that’s better for the Amazon tetras and whatnot that are going in. If my plants start dying, I’ll begin adding a mineralizer, but hardness shouldn’t get much above 3-4 GH.

    What’s a must-have fish for a peaceful 75 gallon community?

Yep, I’ve already got two 5 gallon buckets and a heater for the RO water. I’m planning to store it in small gallon jugs for top-offs, and find a drum that can fit in my closet for water changes. I was figuring I would just get a tall drum and use a Python for WC. I’m planning on buying a 150 GPD...

    What’s a must-have fish for a peaceful 75 gallon community?

Oh, I love the acara. They were actually my first choice. They just have big mouths and could likely eat my tetras (Some of the tetras are torpedo-shaped), and I don’t want to sacrifice my fish. I’ve given up on the gourami and decided to go with a really big school of neon tetras for the blue...

    What’s a must-have fish for a peaceful 75 gallon community?

Yeah, but I wish to keep really soft-water tetras like neons, and it’s a Amazon biotope. Also, my water is so hard I can’t actually measure it correctly with the little test tubes: it goes off the chart, and I’m fairly sure it’s somewhere above 300 in GH. Surprisingly, the ph is only at 7.4-7.6

Humane Way to Get Rid of Pest Snails???

How do you trap pest snails? I’ve only ever used tissue culture plants, so I’ve never had to deal with this problem.

What fish off this list can I have in a 75 gallon peaceful community?

Eh, I need a open space for my bottomfeeders: can’t heavily plant like that. I’ll probably mix similar temperaments and not deal with aggressive tetras.

What fish off this list can I have in a 75 gallon peaceful community?

I just like the otos because they’re cute/derpy. I figured I’d be making algae jars for them and feeding them repashy to make up for that. Yeah, apisto was a stretch, but they are pretty. I think I’ll go with the school of rams. Easier and stays with the theme. The black skirts, I really only...

    What’s a must-have fish for a peaceful 75 gallon community?

I’m adding a air stone, as I also plan to run co2 in this tank. Probably kicking out the gourami and replacing him with a all-female group of Bolivian rams to stay with the South American theme. The slow water is for a few species of tetras I want to keep that aren’t big enough to withstand...

What fish off this list can I have in a 75 gallon peaceful community?

So, I’m planning a 75 gallon peaceful community. There’s only four fish it has to have: 13 Albino Sterbai Cory catfish, Rummynose Tetras (13), 13 Glowlight tetras, and a BN pleco of the lemon-blue eye morph. Everything else below has to fit with them. I’ve picked everything I like that seems to...

Humane Way to Get Rid of Pest Snails???

If your other snails are large and not too numerous, you could pluck them out, toss them in a spare tank, and possibly get clown loaches if it’s a big, understocked tank. Or, if it’s smaller and stocked, put a copper medicine in and wait for it to kill them all. You can also ask someone to...
