What's the difference between tank de-chlor and pond de-chlor aside from the price? Am needing a new bottle and wondered if it would be ok to use the pond stuff in my tank?

Yes you need to leave the filter running that's the whole point, it's where your bacteria are going to be.

ok thanks, I've put ammonia back up to 2ppm now

I'm just at week 2 on cycling my tank and this morning my ammonia had finally got itself down to 0.25 but my NitrItes look to be less aswell. Is that ok because I never noticed it go above the darkest colour on the chart, it was dark yesterday but not darker than the 5ppm on the chart I wouldn't...

Have been at 2ppm ammonia for 3 days now, it's ever so slightly lighter and nitrites{1ppm}/nitrates{about 7} are going up so it's still going just slloooowwwlllyyyy. So have just put the decorations in this aft and turned up the temp while I was there so hoping that will kick it into action

Rang my lfs this morning to ask if she had any in and she said she'd not had any for a few weeks because they must not be breeding/in season yet?? Can anyone shed some light on when I'd likely be able to get hold of one. Thanks

Why are you adding up to 8ppm of ammonia? I'm doing as it says in the fishless cycle thread and it says 5/6ppm to start with then 4ppm once it hits 0

ok so not even 0.25 but there's deffo some there lol am only on day 3 {impatient so tested this aft} All this reading about cycling and whatnot I'm at risk of turning into a geek :rolleyes:
