Brand New And Suffering From Nts

Oh that board trick is a good one! I'm going to have to remember that next time. I just /very/ carefully pour the water XD

Not A Good Day For Me And Fish

Thank you again Moby. The Barbs did so well with my adding the Chain Loaches that I didn't even think about adding these little guys. Won't be making that mistake again. I've looked for the little guy in the tank this morning - I don't see him :( I'm kinda worried he became a snack once the...

    Bought 3 Guppies - 1 Died (Worried)

Thanks Moby - I feel a lot less of a failure about that tank this morning. Just went to check on them, they're doing fine. I'm thinking oxygen was the culprit here, or more specifically - lack of. I'll get an airstone today and that should sort everything out.

Not A Good Day For Me And Fish

They're leaving him alone now but I've just got a good look at him, his tail is missing! I feel absolutely awful :( According to the research I've done online the tail can grow back? I'll keep up on water changes so there's less chance of infection, but I'm just at a loss. It's like -gone-. The...

Not A Good Day For Me And Fish

Things have been going so well with my tanks a day like this was bound to happen. See this thread for the unfortunate side of today's events. Thankfully the day wasn't as bad as it could have been. For my 35 Gallon I settled on Forked Tail Rainbowfish as my second school. Went to the LFS today...

Yeah keep at eye on the exact water stats. You may need to do more than just your weekly water changes until you sort out whatever is going on.

A Sad Day For Fishkeeping :(

Yeah, I've had good experiences with most of the staff at this Petsmart. I am a lil miffed they didn't tell me the fish were fresh in though because I've chatted with the girl that sold me the Barbs on several occasions. That said I guess it is kind of my fault. It didn't even occur to me to...

A Sad Day For Fishkeeping :(

A sad day in fishkeeping :( Went with my Minime to Petsmart to pick up 5 more Cherry Barbs. I'd decided to increase the shoal to 9 while I settle on the other shoaling species. En route home she started talking about how one of the females was just hanging out at the top of the tank. Turns out...

    Undecided

My vote is for Cockatoo Apisto, male. SO pretty! But I don't think he'd like your Betta much :(

Brand New And Suffering From Nts

I'm sorry to hear you've had such a rough experience with your first tank and bad LFS advice. Ammonia is not supposed to be in a tank, even small amounts will stress fish out. I second the advice to get a testing kit. You're going to want something like this...

Suggest Another Shoaling Species For My Tank?

I live in Canada and when I was looking for my loaches online I could not for the life of me find a place that would ship to me. Then I decided to google and see if there were any fish stores I was as-of-yet unaware of (yeah... prolly should have done that first lol).

    Plz Help! Ammonia Spike

    Brown Algae

I'm pretty OCD about rinsing. Haven't checked the tank's pH in a while but I'll do it when I get home. The fish all seem happy so I don't think it's an issue.

35 Gallon Sw Coral - Will It Work?

I've always wanted a saltwater tank. Mostly because I love the corals and non-fish life that live in them. But I'd kind of been under the impression that to do a live rock (that's coral right? - still learning the terminology) tank I needed to be looking at a 50+gallon. Where I live right now...
