we need to be ,realistic though, nobody who's gone out and got a fluval edge is going to want to keep just one fighter in there  , with stocking you just need to introduce slowly and be careful of what your putting in there .... i still stick with my initial suggestions as with slow stocking...

if your looking for color then 6 neon's - 4 corydoras   (trilineatus or hubrosus ) and a betta ....    or as an alternate stocking 10 Vietnamese cardinal minnows and a shoal of some blueberry cherry shrimp ? 

i would say a 80 litres for the first goldfish and 10 + more for each fish if there fancies but if there common i would say at least 150 litres with 50+ for each fish as regulars are very streamlined .

Plecs and inside and out of the tank and each tank has diffrent water agitation but all test between 4.8 and 5.3

Thanks guys i am worried about ph swings but i want to breed fish and 5 is a tad low for it and not too sure if my zebras would adapt? And ive let it sit its 5 alright is the not a powder that i can by and add x amount to x amount of litres and it will raise it by x ph i understand almost all...

Hey, does anyone know how to or were in can find a guide on altering water parameters i want to be able to alter my ph up i can get it down very well but struggle making it more alkiline it comes out my tap at about 5 so it would be handy to raise it to around 6.5 any help would be great thank Alex

So if your choseing a "big healthy female" isnt that selective breeding ? And inbreeding is much safer for a species than hybridsing as if your churring out fish it could eventually dillute the etire gene pool of either species.and even tho your intetions are good and you would want them how can...

And most rams in my opinion , you could probebly get a way with a pair of dicrossus or a group of shell swellers
