Where is the NitrAte??

NitrIte 9ppm ?? At that level your fish would be dead!! I suggest you check that you didn't get your nitrite and nitrAte tests mixed up as this is the only thing i can see. There have to be nitrAtes in a tank I mean even in the water you put in unless u used 100% ro water there will be nitrates in it.

After thinking about things.....

Heres a few things. Either your test kits mince (does nae work) or some thing in your tank could be leeching the nitrite and this is why it's always high. It could also be in your tap water, so test it too. Failing that your fish sound alive and healthy so just go with it.

I FINALLY GOT NITRATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'VE GOT SOMEWERE BETWEEN .5 AND 1 PART PER MILLION. I took forever but its finally cycling. Thanks for the advice.

The NitrIte has dropped quite alot. Its down to 5ppm.

The Nitrite is down to 0 the Nitrate 20ppm, ammonia is too low for a reading on my test kit. So everything is going great.
