I have just got some blue rams for my aquarium.

One LFS said that they wouldn't like the local water. Another two LFS said that they would be fine. As such, I now have four of them.

What should I be watching out for in case they don't like the Kent water? Are there any signs in particular that they are struggling, or would they just die for no reason?

what are the levels on your tank at the moment?
what ratio of rams do you have (males/females).

my brother keeps his in relatively hard water, one has thrived, but others did not (possibly due to the water, possibly due to this one's aggression, he's named Sid Vicious and could possibly be reponsible for the deaths of his girlfriends)

generally if they've been locally bred they should be fine, but if they've been imported from somewhere with entirely different water chemistry they may suffer.

I am not sure what the water hardness is - don't have that testing kit (yet).

I currently have four - two male and two female. They have been in since Monday and seem happy enough.

PS: When you say "they may suffer", what will happen? Will there be any visible signs?

Juwel Vision 260 (260L), planted.
10 Cardinal Tetras
2 clown loaches
4 blue rams
2 black mollies
