what fish to choose

i have a 40gallon tank thats just finished cycling and didn't no wat fish to get i want a colourful but peaceful community tank(pics would be more helpful)

It's really a matter of personal preference. Is your tank planted? Guppies are colourful and peaceful as well as very prolific. What about platies? The list is endless, it all depends on your likes and dislikes.

well i like pretty much everythink as long as its colourful

Perhaps a pair of German Blue Rams as a centerpiece fish, with a school of neons?

I love them, that's what I have.

I would get a school of maybe 6-8 tetras (try neons or cardinals) and some sort of centerpiece fish like a pair of rams or another bright colorful cichlid.
