I'm about to embark on a lengthy research project, it's already up and running and I'm taking over for one of the research associates on the project. My job duties will be to design experiments to study the mating behaviors of these fish, as well as the process in which they undergo gender change. I'm also to maintain the aquaria (4 800 gallon tanks) and keep all the books.

I'm wondering what some of our more educated members know about these fish. Their common name is the Blue Headed Wrasse. The commonly accepted theory is that these fish can change their gender and body shape/color very quickly, some have been observed going from initial phase to terminal phase in as little as a few days. What do you think?

I'd be willing to update this thread with some of our findings from time to time if people are interested!
