Hello everyone,
I havent had any problems wuith my tank since I set it up ~4 months ago. This morning I had one dead mini-puffer, one dead tetra, one tetra that is struggling to swim, and a female swordtail with a "cotton ball" on her side. I think the swordtail has a fungus but the neons and puffer have no visible discoloration, spots, growths, etc.
My amonia, nitrite/nitrate, is fine. Water hardness is in the "range" it shoud be, PH is 7.5
I am staying home from work this morning to go to the pet store to get some any fungal and an antibiotic. I have a few questions though...
What causes fungus?
Can a fish die of fungus without visible symptoms?
Can live plants cause fungus?
What are good anti-fungals and antibiotics?
Thanks!
