Hello All ...

My aquarium is still uncycled ... been up with fish three weeks.

I spotted five Ich spots on the tail fin of my Serpae tetra ... maybe one other spot just starting on a Tiger Barb .. all the fish in the tank seem healthy .. are active and feeding and not showing any signs of ich but the white specks.

My local shop suggest treating my Ich problem by raising the temperature to 86 F and using 12 drops of Aqaria Sol ( Copper Sulfate ) per 10 gallons of water for seven days. The treatment has been in place 3 1/2 of the total seven days.

Although I understand the reasoning behind raising the temperature it also makes perfect sense that higher temps will increase the Ich reproduction rate .. hence more Ich and more of a problem ?? :-(

So far .. based on spots .. the condition looks worst .. not better. It is difficult to say if the fish are being re infected or if Ich already in the fish are starting to be seen for the first time ?? In other words is the Copper Sulfate really working and getting the exposed Ich or are they re attacking the fish ?

Anyway ... needed to vent some ideas and observations.

Good Day ...
